St. Martin of Tours in Charoite
St. Martin of Tours in Charoite
This lovely chaplet is made with Russian charoite, from our older stock. These beads are nice quality with a fine polish. Charoite is an exceptional stone, with a unique combination of purple, black, and transparent white. It is one of our favorite stones!
The St. Martin medal features a depiction of St. Martin cutting his cloak for the beggar, giving half to him and keeping the other half, since it belonged to Caesar. The reliefs are finely cast, and the backdrop behind is slightly textured. The reverse of the medal is gothic styled, and the crucifix is Nouveau styled, with shields on the arm ends.
