Aesthetic Guarantee

While we try to convey the aesthetics of our pieces through quality photographs and text, we understand that buying online is different than a purchase made from a local retailer, where you're able to judge color, size and handling in person.

If you are in any way dissatisfied with your new rosary purchase, including bead color and quality, size, overall appearance, weight, drape or function, please write or call within 10 days of receipt of your item to notify us of your intention to return it. We will handle any customer concern quickly, cheerfully and with no debate, and only request notice in order to organize our accounting. This insures your prompt repayment.

Return shipping fees for aesthetics are the responsibility of the purchaser, both domestic and international.

Please note: rosaries, chaplets, tenners and bracelets over 10 days delivered with no return notification to us will be considered aesthetically acceptable to you and used, and are not available for refunds. As life is often hectic, we do allow 30 days for the actual physical return of your item, as long as the 10 day notification guideline is followed. If your return item is not received in 30 days, we'll assume you changed your mind, and will consider your item used and no longer available for return.

Lifetime Workmanship Guarantee

We stand firmly behind the quality of every rosary, chaplet, tenner and rosary bracelet that we sell, and use the highest quality materials available for their construction.

Should you experience a break or failure for any reason whatsoever, we will repair your piece at no cost, reimburse your shipping here for the repair, and pay for the shipping back to you. Please know that no matter what the situation of the failure is, we always assume full responsibility for it, so there's no need for you to be shy in writing or calling to arrange a fix.

For international customers, we will reimburse 1st class (regular airmail) shipping to us for a repair, and will ship USPS 1st class mail back to you free of charge. Please note that any tariffs on an international return shipment are the responsibility of the customer.

There is no time limit on free repairs. The workmanship of your rosary is guaranteed for life.

Both our aesthetic and workmanship guarantees extend to rosaries given as gifts to third parties.

Custom Work

Meinssen Handmade Rosaries happily accepts custom orders. If you would like to design your dream rosary, we can help you select the beads, parts and metal finish.

If you have a favorite color for the beads, we can help you, through email and photos, find a gemstone within that color family, including sizes and cuts.

For the crucifix, center and any attached medals, you can look through our parts catalogue to find what you might like.

Custom is a lot of fun, and many of you have really great ideas. So if you're not finding just the right rosary for you, please consider custom and send us a note! You may use the form in our Contact section or write us directly at mhrconnections@live.com.

Sharing St. Jude

MHR was founded through the intercession of St. Jude, and he is Meinssen Handmade Rosaries’ beloved patron.

In fulfillment of the Saint Jude prayer, whereby one who has received help from St. Jude promises to spread the word of devotion to him, a St. Jude gift medal is attached to every full (five decade) rosary purchased. The medals are in cast Sterling, red bronze, white bronze and yellow bronze to match the metal used for construction of your rosary. Vermeil (14k gold over Sterling) St. Jude medals are attached for gold filled rosaries.

Saint Jude is a powerful intercessor for souls falling into despair. He is our strong ally in perseverance. If you, a family member, a loved one or friend is suffering physical illness, marital disharmony, employment woes, depression, or is a victim of violent crime or emotional abuse, St. Jude's intercession may be a lifeline back to hope.

Some Notes About Beads

A beautiful rosary starts with beautiful beads. Our hunt for exemplary bead strands is both fun and challenging.

It's often the case that our suppliers carry a minimal quantity of strands which meet the high expectations of our customers. As a result, many rosaries offered here are one of a kind, or may be duplicated only a few times before the bead supply runs out. Additionally, any known manufacturer's bead treatments, such as heating, dying or stabilization, are provided for you in an item's description.

Some Notes About Metals

At MHR, we use a variety of metals in our rosary construction: Sterling silver, red bronze, white bronze, yellow bronze, gold- and silver-filled.

A bronze is an alloy of copper and tin in varying percentages, with other metals added in to change properties of temper (hardness), pliability and color. But tin must always be present.

For red bronze, silicon is added to copper, tin and a low percentage of zinc, which gives it its rich, reddish-gold hue. In white bronze, the percentage of zinc is higher and no silicon is present. White bronze is a true bronze as it also contains tin and copper. It is a very strong and tarnish-resistant metal, with a warm, silvery color when polished. White bronze ages toward golden shades.

Yellow bronze is formed with manganese in the alloy. When highly polished, it has a color similar to 12 or 14k gold.

Gold- and Sterling silver-filled wire, findings, beads, crucifixes and centers are made with a thin sheet of gold or silver bonded to an inner core of base metal (often copper or brass). Filled parts, especially gold, are much more expensive than standard plated (that is, electroplated over base metal), but less expensive than solid precious metals. Gold filled is considered a jewelry grade material, where base metal gold plated is not.

Gold- and silver-filled parts and findings are always given a quality descriptor: 12k/20 or 14k/20 for gold-filled; 1/10 for Sterling silver filled. What this means is that 1/20 or 5% of the weight of the material is solid 12 karat or 14 karat gold. Similarly, 1/10 silver-filled is 10 percent solid Sterling silver. Gold filled also differs from vermeil, which is a heavily gold plated layer over solid Sterling silver. The thickness of the gold plating must meet an industry standard, or it cannot be called vermeil. Gold-filled, silver-filled and vermeil form high quality, precious metal parts, beads and findings.

Bronze caps and chain are, in general, an antique plated finish over solid brass or steel. One exception are Bali cast brass and bronze bead caps and connectors, which are solid metal. Some chain and caps are true vintage with natural patina, not plated. Antiqued silver over brass caps are electroplated silver. The antiquing can be either light or very dark (gunmetal).

All metals used in our rosaries are specified in each item's detail page, so that you know exactly what you're buying.
