Our Lady of Perpetual Help is a venerated icon seemingly stolen from the island of Crete and taken to Rome by a merchant. The merchant's grandaughter had a vision of Holy Mary in a dream, where Our Lady asked that the icon be given to the church of St. Matthew. It rested there for about 300 years, and now resides at the church of St. Alphonsus di Liguori (built over St. Matthew's). This beautiful medal depicts Our Lady holding baby Jesus to Her heart, with angels above. On the reverse is a large relief of the Sacred Heart. This is a heavy rosary center, great for 8mm bead rosaries.
