In his Papal Encylical, Rosarium Virginis Mariae, Pope John Paul II decried
a modern trend away from teaching rosary prayer.
If you never learned how to pray the Catholic rosary,
our picture guide will teach you.
The standard prayers will likely be quite familiar to you.
What may not be familiar is the call to the contemplation of the Mysteries,
where we are shown the face of Christ through the gospels
and experiences of our Blessed Mother, Mary.
|
The four Mysteries--Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful and Glorious--are fully explained to you,
as these are the heart and great benefit of rosary prayer.
Also in this section, you will find the common prayers for the chaplets,
which are bead sets used in prayer for the intercession of individual Saints,
as well as instructions on how to pray Novenas, or nine set prayers.

Words have the power to uplift,
to change a life, to end isolation, to bring hope and spread love.
In our Library section are excerpts from books of the Bible,
as well as the amazing writings of the Saints and Popes.
On a diligent road toward Christ, these are our guides.
And in a modern time, where it is so difficult to discern what is our own will
from submission to God, we need our teachers more than ever.
|
We have also included the poetry and prose of some literary masters, for their experience
of spirit or love, their vision of good and evil or redemption from sin.
While these should be taken in a different manner than the Bible or the writings
of the Blessed and our Holy Fathers,
they have merit in touching us in the shared human experience.
