Still holding the crucifix,
say The Apostle's Creed:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Creator of Heaven and earth,
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
And born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate;
Was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell.
On the third day, He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven,
And is seated at the right hand of the Father.
From there, He will come to judge
The living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The holy Catholic church,
The communion of Saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the dead,
And life everlasting. Amen.
While holding the crucifix,
make the sign of the cross:
In the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit, amen.

Say the Our Father (Pater Noster):
Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth
as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our tresspasses,
As we forgive those who tresspass against us.
Lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Say the Hail Mary (Ave Maria):
Hail Mary! Full of Grace,
The Lord is with Thee!
Bless’ed art Thou amongst women,
And bless’ed is the fruit
of Thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners
Now, and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

On the chain between a last Ave bead and a Pater bead,
say one Glory Be:
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now and forever shall be
world without end. Amen.
Followed by The Fatima Prayer:
O Jesus, my Savior, forgive us our sins.
Save us from the fires of hell.
Lead all souls to heaven,
especially those most in need of Thy mercy.
Amen.

There are many ways to complete
your rosary prayers.
The Memorare and Hail Holy Queen
are two traditionally used,
but there is no right or wrong way
to express what is in your heart
after your meditations.
A simple expression of gratitude
to our Blessed Mother for the gift of Her rosary
is always appropriate, and polite.

|
|
Close traditionally with the Memorare:
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
of all who flee to Thy protection, impore Thy help, or seek Thy intercession,
none is left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto Thee,
O virgin of virgins, my Mother.
To Thee I come, before Thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate!
Despise not my petitions,
but in Thy mercy, hear and answer me.
Amen.
Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Amen.
Make the sign of the cross.

Or close with the Salve Regina:
Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy,
our life our sweetness and our hope.
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve;
To thee do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us,
and after this, our exile, show unto us
the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
Amen.
Or a prayer to God the Father:
O God,
Your only begotten Son
has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life.
Grant, we beseech Thee,
while meditating upon these mysteries of the
Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
that we may both imitate what they contain
and obtain what they promise,
through the same Christ our Lord.
Amen.
|
|
|
|
Or a prayer to St. Michael the Archangel:
Holy Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle!
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil,
may God rebuke him, we humbly pray.
And do you, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all evil spirits
who wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

And I say unto you,
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find;
knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth;
and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
~ Luke 11:9-10 ~
